In 2016 CCI moved out of our earlier location in the west end of Ottawa to a much larger facility in Arnprior, Ontario Canada.   We are still only an hour’s drive from downtown Ottawa, but now have tripled our production space.

We have worked with many of Ottawa’s local high tech companies on prototyping and short run production of such items as fiberglass enclosures, radomes, and custom truck fairings. But we are also happy to help out our local customers with much smaller jobs, such as carbon fiber parts/fiberglass repairs. And we have co-operated with both Carleton and Ottawa Universties with past student projects.

Our lamination technologies include RTM, vacuum infusion, bladder molding, pressure molding, and vacuum bagged hand layups.  We have in-house CNC milling capability, and a pipe autoclave capable of Pressure Curing carbon fiber tubes up to 20 feet in length.

5 Axis CNC Machining

We are pleased to offer 5 Axis CNC machining of most non-metallic materials as a new service (Spring 2019).   Our equipment has a large machining envelope of 5m x 2m x 1.5m, and is suitable for shaping everything from light weight foam through mdf and denser tooling boards.

3D Scanning

To add to our capabilities and services offered, CCI has acquired a 3D scanning system for verification and reverse-engineering purposes.

Competition Composites Inc. (CCI) is your local Ottawa supplier of fiberglass cloth, carbon fiber, resins, and associated materials.  While not truly a retail operation, we are happy to sell a few yards of the materials that we buy by the roll.  We always have on hand several weights and weaves of fiberglass and carbon fiber.   We stock West System and ProSet epoxy in the smaller kit sizes, and will order in 5 gallon kits on request.   Polyester and Vinylester resins are also available on request (5 gallon pail minimum).  If we don’t have it, we can get it.  And our advice is free.
