Our design for the Finn rudder flares out at the head to accommodate 1.5 inch fittings, while still allowing good flow of water past the upper trailing edge. With only a 5mm tolerance on planform, we aim for the baseline here, while maximizing performance by maximizing thickness below the transom and minimizing weight. Laminate is 100 percent carbon fiber.
